7/8/2026 - I'm modifying my review to remove one star and provide more detail. I'm still happy with the dental work I received (so my original review still stands), but the billing process was confusing and the billing department was unresponsive. At the time of my crown, there was a vague "upgrade fee" of almost $700 on my bill that seemed unusual. I contacted my insurance company and they said the charge was incorrect. I then contacted the dental office and spoke to the office manager who promised to look into it and get back to me. They never got back to me and never returned any of my followup phone calls. I filed an appeal with my insurance company. They agreed the "upgrade fee" was inappropriate and issued a full refund. According to the insurance company customer service representative, this isn't an uncommon occurrence, and the takeaway is that consumers need to understand exactly what they're being charged for and what their insurance coverage is. I had a great experience with Mission Gorge Modern Dentistry today. I had an old crown pop off, and they were able to get me in quickly to see Dr. Bravo for a new one. He and his assistant Samantha were very professional and continually checked in with me during the various procedures to make sure I was comfortable. I've only been coming here for 6 months, but I really like the overall practice so far and am very glad I found them!

I am so glad I found this place! I hadn't been to the dentist in a while; after a horrific first-time-back experience elsewhere, I had developed severe dental anxiety. Dr. Crist and the team went above and beyond ensuring I felt comfortable the entire time. I'm also extremely grateful for the patience of the staff when going over my treatments, what was covered by insurance, and payment options. My teeth finally feel in shape and I am confident I'm back on track for a healthy smile! I was able to book a new patient appointment online and waitlist for an earlier opening- which did open up. During my appointment I had both the exam and a cleaning done. Thank you so much!

Dr. Bravo was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I’ve been looking for a new dentist since moving to San Diego and I think my search is over. Highly recommend this dentistry and Dr. Bravo in particular. Shout out to the entire office team as well for a great visit.
